As the northern most tip of India, Kashmir is a land of peace owing to its unique location and scenic attractions. As India’s top tourist spot, this land has snow, houseboats, beautiful gardens and wooden mosques. The influence of the Mughals can be seen clearly in the gardens and also in the architecture of a few buildings. Jahangir, one of the most famous Mughal emperors used to stay in Kashmir for a holiday. The Dal Lake, famous for its houseboats happens to be mesmerizingly beautiful with a pleasant climate and scenic views.

Unity in diversity

You can find floating gardens and lake villages in Kashmir, something you cannot find anywhere else. The people of Kashmir are warm and hospitable. Mosques, temples and museums are at every nook and corner of this place. Hazratbal has a popular Sufi shrine. Though mostly populated by Muslims, it manages to attract Christians and Hindus alike.

Golf is the most popular sport here. Lal Chowk is famous for its shopping experiences. In fact, Kashmir is one of the very few places of tourist interest that has something for everyone; the foodies, adventure lovers, shopaholics, families, friends and honeymooners.
