This royal city is the 2nd largest city in Rajasthan. It is also known as the “Sun city” by the local people because of the sunny weather all-round the year. It is divided into old and new cities. The city is a proof of the splendid and rich lifestyle of Rajputs, who used to live and rule this over the place. It is located on the foothills of a huge sandstone hillock. The city offers natural and blatant views of the Thar Desert. There are innumerable tourist spots in Jodhpur. The city is called the “Blue city” many a times because of the blue painted houses and buildings strewn all over the city. Mehrangarh Fort is the most magnificent fort in the city, built on a 150 m high hill by Rao Jodha. There are many interesting places inside the fort like temples, a museum and galleries etc.
